Part 3- Around Quito

Senor Josue with the lovely Marylin after a Mexican Dance Performance by our two resident Mexicans in Ecuador (neither of which was Josh)

Quick Highlights while around Quito:  Both boys gave the Public Talks the two weeks we were here in Quito. Josh's was a bit more eventful than Sean's, but both we excellent. For Josh's talk, he chose one of the new, more difficult songs. Coincidentally we also had no microphones or sound system that afternoon because the brother with the key didn't come.
So we made our way through the song without music and as Josh walked up to the stage, it started to rain. A Quito rain, which means torrential downpour falling on a metal roof, rendering all sound within the Kingdom Hall walls inaudable. Still no microphone. He yelled his way through the first part of the talk, stopping every once in a while to make a joke about the situation or wait for a particularly loud part of the storm to pass.
One of the brothers ran from the Kingdom Hall to the other brother's house in the storm to get the key to the sound box, returning totally drenched. But sound was turned on half way through the talk and he managed to finish. This was his first and probably only talk that he got to YELL at the audience.
Most people said they were able to hear about 50% of the info, so it wasn't a total loss.

Josh got to go on a friend's bible studies in the prison in downtown Quito and returned home with the usual prison tats given to visitors to differenciate them from the prisoners. He'll probably have his stories posted on his blog later.

Love this pic... Thanks for all the cooking and dish washing you guys were willing to do while here! I'll keep the pink apron around in case you ever make it back.

During their stay, the boys got to work on the Kingdom Hall building site for a day. Here are some pictures of them working with the friends and trying out some "mystery meals" which they thoroughly enjoyed.

The day before all our company left, we spent one final day walking around Quito, enjoying the sites. It was a beautiful sunny day for once, so we really got to enjoy the sites and got some nice pictures out of it too. Here's a few of them.

Thanks guys for such an awesome time! After two years, it was great to be able to see what life is like for you guys. There are a lot of things that make it difficult, but there is so much more that make it great! Keep focusing on the great as you have been doing. I hope the move goes great and that you will love it in Cuenca. May Jehovah keep you solid!
