So after spending some time at the beach, we headed back to Guayaquil to tour the Branch. The Branch is fairly small, mostly a distribution Branch. But it has some cool things such as new MTS classrooms and boarding buildings, orchards and a nice pool! Here's a few pics of the tour.
Josh and Sean receiving the customary hand-painted magnets from Toni, a sister at the Branch. She manages to paint and give out a magnet to each person that tours Bethel. Pretty impressive. Aunt Cookie and Grandmother, those are the magnets you have on your fridges now!
The Branch has artwork from the publications and other sources strategically placed around the offices to correspond with the different departments. For example...
The most beautiful piece of machinery that we saw at Bethel strutting through the front gate.
drool, drool...
In the background, you can see the new facilities for MTS and housing for the special schools.
Funny Story: The Brothers wanted to get access to the water stored in the city specially for agricultural use, which does not run out as often as normal city water does. Agricultural water is also sold at 5 times less the cost. In order to qualify for access to agricultural water, the Branch had to plant an "orchard" which you can see here in the middle of the picture, totalling 4 rows of banana plants and fruit trees. So now the Branch saves thousands of dollars on water and has a little orchard too.

Beautiful! I love how anything made or taken care of by brothers looks so much better than the usual stuff, I've noticed this everywhere from NYC, to Europe, and pictures from Venezuela, and these here. One day the whole earth will be as lovely.
I also like your new profile pic.
