We can hardly believe that we leave Cuenca today! Our flight tomorrow to the States leaves from Quito, so we will get the chance to say goodbye in person to some of our friends there, which we are happy about.

Last night the young ones in the congregtion took us out for a last supper. It was a great last evening to spend in Cuenca, albeit a tearful one with lots of promises to visit on both ends.
There is so much that we've done in the last few weeks, it's hard to know what kind of "last post" to do. I think I will do a couple, starting with this one. Below are some pictures from our going away party. The Salazar's did an excellent job making it really fun, even giving it cool retro theme. Most were game to dress up as you will see in the pics. At the end of the party the floor was opened up for speeches and goodbyes. Most tried to get through their prepared goodbyes but were unable to. This congregation really is a big family and losing members is really hard. We are sad to go but so happy to have this second family waiting for our return. They all graciously recognized, however, what a happy day this is for our real family who we haven't spent much time with in the past 4 years. So they conceded to our leaving for a while on that basis.

Anyway, here's the pics. And next up... Pictures of Galapagos!!

Man - Looks like it was a great party! Real sorry we missed it - and saying goodbye to you both! I hope it all works out for you back home - and we see you here again in the near future!

Funny how comfortable you two look in those clothes. :-)

I know your second family will miss you terribly, but I'm sure a few will be able to come visit us in Oregon, and I'm sure you'll be back. Your departure will also allow/prompt other brothers & sisters to help out the wonderful Cuencan group too... Jehovah will provide.
