15 February 2011

Quick note to say hi since we are rained in this afternoon. We went to a sister's house for lunch today, after weeks of invitations. On our way there (it's about an hour bus ride to her house on the other side of the city), it started pouring, and by the time we got to her house, it was a full-on storm. We were suppose to go out in service afterward, but the group was cancelled due to the rain, so we took a taxi home instead. So here we are, a free afternoon on our hands, chai tea boiling in the kitchen. We are going to take advantage of some stolen time and try to catch up on our transcription work. We are on report 70 of about 900, so.... we need to keep up a fast pace.

Oh, and the exciting news of the day: Kyle is for sure coming to visit next month with a friend of his from Bethel! Yay!! They will meet us up in Quito for the first English Circuit Assembly ever in Ecuador, spend a few days there, and then come back home with us to Cuenca for another week and a half. We are obviously excited for that, I think it will be a blast and an awesome experience for them too.

(*I had a dream last night that I accidently broke Kyle's nose while hoisting him up on a chair, as if he were a King on a throne. I accidently dropped the chair, he fell and broke him nose. Good thing we don't believe in signs, right? Sorry Kyle, it was an accident.)

Quick service experience: Last week, I met a girl in her 20s who was born in NY, but raised here. She speaks perfect English without accent even. She was excited to hear about the English meetings, because she wants her little girl to start learning about the Bible, and prefers to teach her in English. She asked if we had anything special, like classes or something, just for kids. I asked how old her daughter was, and she says 9 months! Haha! She wants her 9-month-old daughter to start learning about the Bible. Hey, that is fine with me. I told her I would bring her back a Bible Story book and also a grown-up book for her.

Well, I think we will put Life with Father on now. Seems like a good rainy day, background movie. Tootles.

Leah, I am shocked that you have never seen 'Life With Father'. Check it out at library and after you watch, give me a call to tell me it's THE best movie!
