Portland Updates

Last week, we took a mini-vacation and went to sunny SoCal for my uncle's wedding. Jon, Holly, Hannah and my mom took off road trip style on Monday and met me down in Long Beach which is where I flew into Wednesday morning. I gotta say, after years of travelling with 4 overweight suitcases, lots of visa paperwork and 2 carry-ons, it was a fantastically free feeling to carry only a purse! Great start to a relaxing vacation. Well, we hung out at the beach for the day before heading to East LA (Rancho Cucamonga to be exact), and getting our family time on. There was family in from a few different places, and everyone got along well and it was a pretty successful week of wedding activitiy.Actually it was pretty exciting with lots of LA drama, including planes landing on the freeway we were on, a massive 8 lane-wide police stop to arrest a guy in one of the cars, and drug busts going on outside our neighborhood. On Friday, we moved on to Glendale where we stayed with the rest of the wedding party at the HIlton (Hey-o!) with cousin Leah (thanks for letting her come Sara!!) and had two days of high class, open bar, rooftop view parties. The weather was perfect and it was great fun. The wedding was outdoors, next to the pool, which is where we spent most of the day Saturday... what a life!

The following few pics are from this weekend at Pacific City. We went from sunny California beaches to the Oregon coast where we were welcomed by a storm of epic proportions. 80mph winds and hail and thunder. Perfect Oregon coast weather! Better yet, Barb and Marty are here visiting from Bethel and we got to celebrate Barb's 25th Bethel anniversary with a special banana cream pie from Grandma. Yummm...
